Natural Systems Utilities Expands Into California and Acquires Phillips Services, Inc

January 20, 2016/in Press Release

PRESS RELEASE – (Hillsborough, NJ – January 19, 2016)

Natural Systems Utilities (NSU) announced today the successful completion of the acquisition of Phillips Services, Inc. (PSI) and expansion into California. PSI is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and manages 25 on-site water and wastewater systems within a 100-mile radius of Napa. PSI has been providing safe and reliable operations services since 1986 and has an outstanding reputation with its clients along with the local and state regulatory agencies.  NSU will assume all of the PSI contracts and business operations.

NSU now operates 210 systems across 10 states, including the largest base of on-site reuse and natural treatment systems in the US. PSI’s customers will benefit from NSU’s expertise and innovation in operations management, design-build services for advanced water reclamation facilities and related technologies.  PSI’s Founder, Gary Phillips reports “PSI was started due to the need for local operations and the desire to provide our customers with the best service possible.  This partnership builds on our existing capabilities, increasing support to our existing customers while allowing for expansion to provide California with better water management solutions”.

Zach Gallagher, Vice President of NSU said, “NSU is very excited to expand into California, a state facing one of the most severe droughts on record. On-site water reclamation facilities can reduce water consumption by over 50% and should be considered as part of the overall solution to address the challenges California faces today.  Long-term reliable operations and maintenance is the key to providing safe and secure alternative water supply and we look forward to building on the legacy of PSI in the Bay Area while servicing downtown San Francisco and expanding into other areas of California”.

NSU consistently develops a better way to create value where others see waste. NSU is an emerging national leader in organic waste repurposing and water reclamation innovation. Our reputation has been built on best in class execution capability, and on long-term, shared-value partnerships with the people and communities we serve.
